Solid English oak
Common solid wood properties
We use English oak wood with a particularly natural colour spectrum. It features a distinctive, brown, dominant and expressive grain. Small branches and original features make this type of wood unique.
Exposure to light
Traditionally, English oak is a timber used in furniture design. Light English oak will slightly darken over the years and obtain a more yellow shade. However, you will hardly notice because this is such a gradual and long-term effect.
Specific wood treatment
Two layers of very dim UV water paint are applied to the intensively brushed wood. The surface is sanded down after every procedure. Wax is applied as the last layer. For the TRENTO range, surfaces are initially treated with a water mordant before they are sanded down to merely leave traces of the lightly coloured water mordant in pores and recesses. Only then do we apply UV water paint and wax.
